Keepsake Kottage was founded in 2013 with only one house on the Westside of Wichita Kansas. Through the years, Keepsake Kottage has expanded to now four homes across Wichita, and the fifth home is opening at the end of summer 2022.
Keepsake Kottage is a family owned business and was started by Kari Cameron. Kari was born and raised in Wichita and has forever called Kansas her home. She is married to Keith Cameron and they have two boys, Kayden and Kambren. The boys have grown up in the homes and adore the residents. With the family having all “K” names, the inspiration came for the name Keepsake Kottage.
Kari has been in long-term care since the year 2000, she has always loved the elderly and had a heart for caring for others. While in high school, she volunteered at Kansas Masonic Home and at the VA. Her Christian faith has been a driving factor in everything she’s done, so with her heart for the Lord, she decided to begin her own Homeplus. She was inspired to open her own home plus as she saw the need for quality senior care, and because she wanted to make a difference in long-term care. It was always her desire to have an excellent staffing ratio, attentive employees, and the highest quality of care. This vision has come to life through Keepsake Kottage.
The history of our Homeplus is founded on a sole desire to love and care for the elderly, and the ability to provide
the best care in Wichita. We take pride in the care that we provide, as we prioritize each person and their needs. Everyone is their own individual, and we shape our care in a way that caters to each skill and cognitive level.
Even though Keepsake Kottage has expanded and is still growing, the love and care we share for our residents will never waiver. Our highest priority is providing a safe environment that feels like home and we are able to do so by having one aide per every four residents. This allows for individualized care to occur, as well as keeping that home touch by having three home cooked meals a day with dessert and snacks, and daily cleaning to keep our home environment comfortable.
The history of our Homeplus is something we are proud of, being able to care for many loved ones through the years, but the future of this Homeplus is something we are beyond excited for. Our plans to expand to another house means that we get to care for more loved ones, and continue sharing the love that the Keepsake family offers.
